SUMMARY:Free DBS Workshop - Eligibility\, ID\, and how to support people with obtaining DBS Checks Inbox
DESCRIPTION:As part of the DBS regional offer to North East VCSE Organisations\, I have devised a webinar which is targeted for organisations that work to support people into volunteering opportunities. This workshop will look at DBS eligibility; and in particular what to do when DBS ID validation routes cannot be used. This would be useful for organisations who support those seeking asylum and refugees into volunteering opportunities; as well as any organisations who support people into volunteering placements when the typical ID routes cannot be utilised. \nPlease do feel free to book onto a webinar yourself; and please send this email onto any organisations in your network who would benefit from this offer. \nThe links in this email can be used to book onto the webinars. You only need to book onto one session – both sessions cover the same content which is outlined below: \n  \nDBS and North East VCSE Organisations – Eligibility\, ID\, and how to support people with obtaining DBS Checks \nAppropriate for those in North East VCSE Organisations who need to give advice and make decisions about what levels of DBS checks should be applied for; and those who work to support people into volunteering opportunities – in particular those where typical DBS ID routes cannot be followed. \nThe aim of this workshop is to understand: \n\nthe benefits of DBS and you (employer or voluntary organisation) working together\nthe different levels of DBS check and when an employee is eligible for a check\nwhat ‘regulated activity’ is\nwhat the fingerprint route is and when to use it\nthe safe recruitment practices that can be in place\, with DBS checks forming a part of these\nQ&A\n\nWednesday 22nd January 2025 \n2pm – 3:30pm \nhttps://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/0dfac217-7250-4d39-b9e2-6493e9bca126@f24d93ec-b291-4192-a08a-f182245945c2 \nTuesday 11th February 2025 \n10am – 11:30pm \nhttps://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/3fa78afa-4d04-408b-b94e-c54f368b2b09@f24d93ec-b291-4192-a08a-f182245945c2 \nPlease do not hesitate to contact me for any further details: \nJulia Mitchinson (she/her) | Regional Outreach Adviser for North East Partnerships Team | Strategy\, Performance and Change Directorate\nDisclosure and Barring Service\nTel: 0300 1053958 \nJulia.Mitchinson@dbs.gov.uk
