Our Help to Claim service can help you find out if you can claim Universal credit and if it is the right benefit for you to claim. Our Help to Claim Advisers can support you in the early stages of your Universal Credit claim, from the application, through to your first payment around 5 weeks later.

Help to Claim is a National dedicated service from Citizens Advice. It’s free, independent and confidential. Our trained advisers can help you throughout the process of making your claim and with:

  • how to gather evidence for your application
  • how to prepare for your work coach appointment

They can help you work out how much Universal Credit you will get depending on your circumstances and any income you may have.
