IT Network and Security Officer
Citizens Advice Northumberland are looking for an IT Network and Security Officer responsible for delivering high-level IT support and leading the management of network infrastructure across all organisational sites. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will ensure reliable and secure IT operations, with a strong focus on cybersecurity and compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus standards.
Key responsibilities include providing first and second-line IT support, managing helpdesk operations, maintaining hardware and software, and delivering staff training. The role also involves configuring and monitoring network infrastructure, including firewalls and VPNs, proactively identifying and resolving performance issues.
The postholder will lead the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy, conduct regular audits, enforce security policies, and respond to incidents. They’ll collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve IT systems and drive strategic improvements such as disaster recovery planning and technology upgrades.
This is a varied and hands-on role requiring technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to both day-to-day operations and long-term IT development.

Salary: £24,783 – £29,381 pro rata depending on previous experience
