Citizens Advice recently published Deeper in Debt, a report sharing the latest debt insights.
It highlights how household bill arrears are mounting and problem debt is growing in both scale and complexity, outlining the urgent reforms needed to support people on the path to recovery. We asked Government for:
- Improvements to public sector debt collection, especially council tax and benefits overpayments.
- A clear timetable for reform of debt solutions, including a review of Breathing Space.
- Support for low-income households to build resilience through the forthcoming Financial Inclusion Strategy.
