Landlines in the UK are going digital – are you ready?

BT and EE are reaching out to connect to key individuals regarding the significant national change that will affect millions across the UK – the transition from analogue landlines to digital home phone services. At BT, we are committed to engaging a wide range of communities in this process, with a particular focus on reaching older and vulnerable customers.

Our new home phone service, Digital Voice, routes calls over broadband rather than the old analogue network, which has become outdated, less reliable, and more energy-intensive. This change will provide customers with clearer call quality and greatly reduce the number of scam calls.

As part of our programme to fully transition by January 2027, BT has been carrying a series of Regional Engagement Initiatives. These include:

  • Roadshow-style events across the country
  • Informative webinars
  • Posters, newspaper advertorials, and promotional stands
  • Partnerships with charities to extend our reach

We are seeking to collaborate with organisations like yours to help spread awareness and provide support—especially to vulnerable groups, for whom the landline is often a lifeline. For those who use your service would be impacted if the landline is there only way of communication & we want to reassure people that there are solutions.

Through this collaboration, we hope to:

  • Educate your organisation and community about the switchover
  • Leverage your communication channels to raise awareness
  • Connect with your wider network of community stakeholders
  • Reach specific demographics that may need extra support
  • Amplify the connected together campaign & national telecare campaign

Please note, there is no sales element to this – it is about public support and is backed by the government.
