Northumberland Recovery College Timetable – March 2026

Welcome to our March monthly newsletter with updates on what we have coming up at Northumberland Recovery College.  We have information on a couple of new sessions and some updates on our current sessions.  Also attached the core timetable for all of Northumberland, containing all NRC face to face and online sessions.

Session Updates

  • Berwick Café Connect – now running again, it has changed from a Thursday to a Tuesday 10.00 – 11.30 from Wallace Green in Berwick
  • Berwick She Shares Group – has also restarted on a Tuesday, 12. 00 – 1.30 however currently this group is full, please contact us of you would like to be added to the waiting list.
  • The Crafty Craic Group in Ashington is now running again every Thursday at 11.00 – 1.00 from Hirst Park Pavillion, Ashington.  Limited spaces available, please get in touch to register your interest.
  • Rhythms at the Heart of Wellbeing – this popular drum circle group is back running in Pegswood on Sundays 11.00 – 1.00 for 8 sessions running between March – May (see flyer for details)

 Help Us to Promote

The following sessions could do with a boost in numbers, so if you know of anyone who might like to come along get them to enrol with us

  • Feel Good Foundations Course – Online Tuesday 1.00 – 2.00 starting 10th March for 6 weeks.  This is an online course looking at the foundations of good mental and physical health, including sleep, nutrition, moving mindfully, etc.

New Sessions Starting in March /Early April

  • Masks Off Course at the Bothy, Ashington. Starting Monday 16th March for 8 weeks, running 1.00 – 2.30 pm.
  • Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) – St Georges, Morpeth. 4 face to face sessions over 4 weeks Monday 1.00-5.00 starting on 23rd March. WRAP is a recognised tool to support and maintain mental wellness and recovery.  In these sessions you will learn more about WRAP, develop your own WRAP to support your wellbeing and recovery.
  • Wilder Wellbeing – monthly outdoor sessions at Northumberlandia, Cramlington, with Northumberland Wildlife Trust.  3rd Wednesday of the month 11.00 – 2.00 pm starting 18th March.
  • Nature and Wellbeing Course – with Northumberland Wildlife Trust starting on 1st April at Isabella Heap, Blyth, running Wednesdays 12.30 – 3.30 for 10 weeks (see flyer for dates) Limited spaces available.

Families and Carers Training and Support Programme (FACTS)

This 6-week online course will be delivered by practitioners in the HOPE Team (CNTW) and is for family/carers of individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder / Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, or with symptoms in line with these conditions (diagnosis not required).

We are looking to run this course online (via Zoom) on Mondays 3pm-5pm, hoping to start 20th April (TBC). Please note, this course is just for family/carers, and not for people with BPD/EUPD.

 During the course, you will learn:

  • What BPD/EUPD is, and how to manage associated emotional and relational difficulties
  • Skills to help you rebuild relationships and reduce conflict
  • How best to support your relative or friend
  • How to cope with your feelings

 March and April 2026 Wellbeing Workshops

All are online 11.00 – 12.00 on a Tuesday.

Please note that the session All About Panic has now moved from 17th March until 5th May.

Future Sessions

With our Coping Strategies course finished and our Embracing Emotions course about to finish we hope to run them again in the future. So, if anyone is interested in attending please get in touch and we will set up a waiting list and re-run them if there is enough interest.

All NRC sessions are free for adults (18+) who live or work in Northumberland. Upcoming sessions can all be found on the ‘What’s on’ page on our website, and our weekly timetables can be found on our website.

Our sessions aren’t drop In sessions so to join any NRC sessions, please complete our enrolment form, let us know which session(s) you would like to sign up to.
