Helen and Maria took part in a full week of VE Day commemorations, attending events in Lynemouth, Longhoughton, and Prudhoe, as well as a commemorative service at Hexham Abbey. The programme included afternoon teas, tea dances, displays of vintage military vehicles, and many participants dressed in 1940s-style clothing. A flypast added a special touch to the occasion, helping to evoke the spirit of the time.
