Welcome to our Northumberland Recovery College monthly newsletter with some updates on current sessions and our updated timetables for May.
Mental Health Awareness Week – 11th – 17th May
- Wellbeing Workshop – Mental Health Awareness and Useful Tips – Tuesday 12th May online 11.00am – 12.00 noon
- Wednesday 13th May we are joining with Wansbeck Community Links Wellbeing Wednesday for a one off mixed gender walking football session – see attached flyers
- Thursday 14th May – launch of our new session – Level Headers Blyth – see flyer attached and below.
New Sessions
- Blyth Level Headers – New session, mixed-paced recreational football sessions for Men, Thursday’s 1.30pm – 3.00 pm, @ Blyth Spartans AFC, start 14th May (Launch date) commencing weekly
Session Updates
- Families and Carers Training and Support Programme (FACTS) – 6-week online course will be delivered by practitioners in the HOPE Team (CNTW) and is for family/carers of individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder / Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, or with symptoms in line with these conditions (diagnosis not required) not for people with BPD/EUPD. Modules commence 11th May
- Crafty Craic Ashington- this is currently postponed, hopefully restarting soon.
- St Georges Café Connect – currently postponed, looking to change to a Tues morning and hopefully return later in May (dates TBC)
- West Autism/ADHD group – facilitator away, restarts 27th May)
- Wilder Wellbeing continues at Northumberlandia- this month participants will have the choice of Forest Bathing, Nature crafts, light gardening and a citizen science project “Bee survey”. This session runs on 3rd Wednesday of every month (20th May) and activities offered will change each month.

- Embracing Emotions – This session is now fully booked. Please contact the College if you would like to attend this session to reserve a space for future sessions.
- Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) – 8-week course at St. Georges Park, Wednesdays afternoons (exact time and date TBC)
Future Sessions
- Coping Strategies – we are going to be running our 6 week online course again 22nd June-3rd Aug. If anyone is interested in attending, please get in touch to be added to the list, we have attached the flyer with confirmed dates.
Wellbeing Workshops,
All are online 11.00am – 12.00 noon, most Tuesday’s (please note some are fortnightly in this cohort. Always check the update on the website for details there are no more sessions in May due to Facilitator holidays, they will return in June (See future sessions for June dates and topics)

All NRC sessions are free for adults (18+) who live or work in Northumberland. Upcoming sessions can all be found on the ‘What’s on’ page on our website, and our weekly timetables can be found on our website.
Our sessions aren’t drop In sessions so to join any NRC sessions, please complete our enrolment form, let us know which session(s) you would like to sign up to.
