In early 2026, Carents.co.uk surveyed 4,293 adults caring for an ageing parent or elderly relative to capture the lived experience of carenting in Britain today. This report presents the realities for those grappling with this life stage and the attitudes that shape the support available to them.

In this report, Carents.co.uk has presented the lived experiences of 2,016 dementia carents across the UK. These insights were gathered as part of a wider survey, “Carents’ Social Attitudes to Carenting” which captured the lived experiences of over 4,000 adults who provide care for an ageing parent or loved one.
