Welcome to our Northumberland Recovery College monthly newsletter with some updates on current sessions and our updated timetables for June.
New Sessions
- Blyth Level Headers – mixed-paced recreational football sessions for Men, Thursday’s 1.30pm – 3.00 pm, @ Blyth Spartans AFC, started on 14th May.
- Wooler ‘Creative Way’s to Wellbeing’ – monthly group, starting 11th June, will run on 2nd Thursday of each month 1pm-3pm at The Cheviot Centre.
- Monthly Sound Baths are also returning to Wooler on 26th June – Will run on the Last Friday of the month 10:30am-12pm at The Cheviot Centre.
- More ‘Rhythms of the Heart of Wellbeing’ drumming sessions have now been announced. These run on Sundays 11am-1pm at Pegswood Welfare Hall, see flyer for dates.
Courses coming up:
- Coping Strategies – 6-week online course returning on Mondays 1:30pm-3pm between 22nd June – 3rd August (apart from 20th July).
- Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) – 8-week course at St. Georges Park, Morpeth starting on Wednesday 17th June – 5th August 1.00 – 3.30 pm.
- Feel Good Foundations – our online 6-week course exploring the foundations of good mental and physical health is returning on Thursday 9th July 10.00 – 11.00.
- Embracing Emotions – this popular 8-week online DBT skills course will be changing to a Tuesday 1pm-2:30pm from July/August, with earliest start date 7th July. Open to sign-ups now.
Session Updates:
- Crafty Craic Ashington- has restarted at Hirst Park Pavillion running Thursdays 11.00 – 1.00.
- St George’s Café Connect – will be restarting on 9th June, and will now run on Tuesdays 10.00 – 11.45.
- Brain Boosters Alnwick has changed day – it is now being held on a Tuesday 10.00 – 11.30.
- West Autism/ADHD Peer Support Group – this group restarted on 27th May at The Torch Centre in Hexham on Wednesday evenings, following a break while the facilitator was away. Limited spaces available.
- Talking Heads Ashington – the men’s talking group that followed Level Headers Football at Hirst Welfare was not well attended so has now ended. Our two Men’s Groups in Ashington, The Monday Club and What’s the Craic, both held at The Bothy, and also our men’s group in Blyth on a Saturday morning are all still running.
- Wilder Wellbeing in Cramlington, transport available for pick up and drop back off to Blyth

- Mindful Movement sessions (formerly called Deeper Dance) returning to Pegswood Welfare Hall on Tuesdays 10am-11:30am, start date will be announced soon.
- Creative Wellbeing course will be coming to Prudhoe soon involving Vision Boarding (course title and dates still to be confirmed).
- We are also looking to run an ADHD course in Cramlington, hopefully in an evening.
- Menopause & Mental Health workshops to run in 4 areas across the county, starting in Ashington. We are also looking to run one in Alnwick, as well as somewhere in the West and South-East of the county, are are open to feedback/requests about where workshops are most needed.

15th Sept: All About: Creating Positive Relationships All About: Creating Positive Relationships – Northumberland Recovery College
All NRC sessions are free for adults (18+) who live or work in Northumberland. Upcoming sessions can all be found on the ‘What’s on’ page on our website, and our weekly timetables can be found on our website.
Our sessions aren’t drop in sessions so to join any NRC sessions, please complete our enrolment form, let us know which session(s) you would like to sign up to.
