Boost provides a hub for innovation, idea-sharing, networking, and supporting improvement efforts across the North East and North Cumbria. While Boost is hosted by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, our community is open to anyone with an interest in driving forward change in health and care.

A new toolkit aims to improve support for families experiencing domestic abuse. It promotes coordinated ‘whole family’ approaches across services, offering practical guidance for implementation. Based on research, the resource helps teams work more consistently together and strengthen outcomes for those affected by domestic abuse.

Healthwatch County Durham has created a useful guide about waiting for an ADHD assessment and the NHS Right to Choose. As demand for ADHD and autism assessments has increased, NHS services have not been able to expand at the same pace. This means more people waiting longer for assessment. To help reduce waiting times in our region, more providers have been commissioned to carry out assessments.

The DWP Disability Services Advocacy Team deliver upskilling sessions for external charities and organisations on Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance Child (DLAc), Industrial Injuries Disablement Payment (IIDB), and Access to Work (AtW).
